About the project
This project proposes a hypothetical museum for the Tai Khamti community of Arunachal Pradesh. The design moves beyond a traditional repository of objects, focusing instead on a specific conceptual lens: the way Tai Khamti cosmology and migration stories are intricately woven into their textile traditions. The museum is designed as a narrative space where textiles serve as the primary medium for storytelling, interpreting, and communicating the community's ancestral knowledge, worldview, and historical journeys. This involved deep cultural research to conceptually frame the built architecture and curated experience centered on this intimate connection between their craft, identity, and history.
