About the project
The Concept: A physical performance of a violent gaze. The camera's logic is a direct critique of the "Promised land of modernity and the desirable". It embodies a singular, universalist pathway to "development" by viewing a local practice not as a valid form of world-making, but as an "underdeveloped" problem to be solved. It is a machine that enforces the "salvation mindset" and an object meant to provide a critical look at the beliefs that define contemporary design processes.
The Interaction: Point it at a street vendor, and it doesn't print a photo. It prints a judgment: a generated critique on efficiency, hygiene, or scalability, physically performing the violence of a universalist gaze.
The Build: Made by gutting an old Olympia DL2000A camera to enclose all of the necessary components along with a custom online server that helps it communicate with Gemini 2.5 to generate outputs using a pre defined prompt.

This will hide itself!
